Born in the ‘crazy 80’s’ in Newport News, VA on October 22, 1983 he was raised by his mother in a middle class single parent home. At the young age of 17, he moved out to attend school at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina. After taking time off from school, being involved In a few major legal cases, and experiencing life I general, he is ready to tell the world his experieces ad views on life. J.CLYDE’s music could be thought of as inspirational music for people in the everyday struggle of life. Music is his influence. Artists like Tupac, Nas, Aerosmith, Nirvana, Notorious B.I.G., Curtis Mayfield, and Stevie Wonder have helped shape J.CLYDE’s music to name a few. There ability to tell it like it is yet still remain highly marketable is a trait he borrows from these influential artists. J.CLYDE’s goal in music is to reach people not like him so they can understand the people who are like him.
