As fast growing as Dubai is, so is the talent with the emergence of up and coming artists.
Among these is Jaxxma, a collaboration of three talented producers, lyricists and rappers. Rone Jackson, Mohammed Darwish (a.k.a Gene Clash) and Majid Faris (a.k.a Magician). Their album also features other talented artists from not only Dubai, but all over the world. These three inspirational young men are a production power house, with each owning there own trade mark style of production and rapping, being the first official hip hop and R&B crew in Dubai to break through internationally with tracks like 'No more Love' which has received much air play in the UK, but has not yet hit the UAE stations due to the controversial lyrics. One hit that has been heard across the UAE is, 'Can't Get Her', featuring Soul Burn, which was a regular jam on National Radio 1 and reached the number one spot on Dj Dany Neville's number one song produced in Dubai.
Gene Clash : Mohammed Y.M Darwish, was born in 1981, son of a British mother and Emarati father, hence the name Gene Clash. Gene had a great passion for funk and mo-town from an early age, inspired by his fathers record collection.
Gene began to write lyrics in 1996, and got into music production in 2000.
He spent most of his college years in the USA, and the UK, spitting rhymes at college gigs.
Rone Jaxx; Rone Jackson J. Emanuel, was born in 1979 in Dubai started DJing at the tender age of 14. Rone was always inspired by and loved music and poetry, and so got involved in many of hip hop battles in early 1995. Becoming recognized as a talented individual, he pushed forward to producing his own tracks and rapping over them. Rone then met Magician and Gene Clash and they formed the group Jaxxma. To date, Rone Jaxx continues to DJ in various clubs in Dubai and has perfected the art of production and mastering Jaxxmas own tracks.
Magician; Majid Faris born in 1981 in Dubai, started by writing poetry and entered many poetry competitions. Magician loved listening to hip hop and so tried applying his poetry lyrics to hip hop beats. The result was a unique sound with meaningful lyrics. He later met Rone Jaxx and Gene Clash and they decided to work together.
They joined forces in 1998 and have since be producing and inspirational sound which incorporates the talent and history of these three accomplished young menYo Sound Like Bone Thugz N Harmony :P Need Ur Own Style!
