Gene Clash is a producer/songwriter born in Dubai to a British mother and Emarati father, a clash of western and eastern genes, hence Gene Clash. This allowed him the opportunity to see, live and understand both worlds. Growing up he was heavily involved in sport, especially football and ice hockey and still does till this day. Gene finished high school in Dubai and went on to study sports and leisure management in the US and Uk. Gene was determined to continue playing sports professionally but certain circumstances got in his way. Following this, he headed in a different direction and achieved qualifications in international tourism, Music/Radio production and sound engineering. Gene started writing lyrics in 1995 and had a great passion for funk and mo-town from an early age, inspired by his father's record collection. He got into production in 2000, and eventually developed his own trade mark in production. During the last 7 years, Gene jumped between his work and music. Gene worked in the promotion industry for 5 years and setup two companies in 2006, as well as opening his own; MW Studios (A fully licensed audio/film production house). Gene has worked as a freelance producer for MTV Arabia, produced soundtracks for video commercials, corporate identites and music for narrations. He has worked with Montell Jordan, Joe, and has also done radio jingles for Bobby Valentino, Chingy, Scratch(The Roots), Nadia Ali(Io), Rosie Wilson (Gorillaz), Horace Brown and Dj T Luv to name
