Hiroshi Yamaoka is a Composer, Arranger, Guitarist, MIDI Programmer and Music Copyist who have studied Jazz/Classical composition and Midi-programming/Studio Production at New School Jazz & Contemporary Music Program (BFA in Jazz Composition), Mannes College of Music and Berklee College of Music. As a performer, he is a skilled finger-style guitarist, and has highly distinctive sound. He is also a music copyist and music transcriber for a Japan-based music publisher, Rittor Music Inc.
Hiroshi was born in Okaya, Nagano, JAPAN and picked up the guitar at age of 13 and it has been his faithful companion ever since. After gigging for several years in Tokyo area, he moved to New York to pursue his musical dreams. While living in New York, he was exposed to wide variety of music and especially interested in Classical, Electronica and World music as well as Jazz, which eventually became important components in his composition and performance style. He is currently living in New York City and writing music that combines elements of Contemporary Urban Jazz/Nu-Jazz/Acid Jazz.
