Devil's Daughter

A driving blues/rock riff sets this one off. Then the vocals let you know it's for real.

Ride

A good Rock n Roll song.
It's often been said that the live music scene is dying and that "super groups" are the wave of the future. Well Good Fortune Band doesn't believe that and once you hear them, you won't believe it either. To look at them, you might not expect one of the best bands to come out of Orange County in years. But singer/guitarist Erich Munzner has assembled some of OC's best musicians. Having played shows in Southern CA and the Pacific North West, Good Fortune Band is turning heads where ever they play.
Band/artist history
Erich Munzner grew up in Anaheim, CA, after a stint in the Air Force he was living in the Pacific Northwest where he began his musical career. A talented vocalist and guitarist, Erich's style is reminiscent of the early R&B and Soul that he grew up with. In 1998 Erich formed The Bone Daddies in Spokane, WA. By 1999, Erich and his band were touring the Pacific Northwest in support of their self-produced, first CD, Blowin' My Mind. With the new album and a scorching live show, Erich and his band began receiving critical acclaim and praise in the press. In 2001, after releasing a second CD, Black Sun Rising, Erich was a "Best Blues Guitarist" Nominee by a local Blues Society and continued to be the darling of the local press. Later that year, Erich packed up his band and headed back to Southern CA in search of a record deal. But playing local clubs far from home was a tough life for the rest of his band and gradually the other two members of Bone Daddies left Southern CA and were replaced by the current line up. By the late summer of 2002, Erich had his new line up in place. With guitarist Kevin Cash (Sunshine Patrol, 6th Day Eden), drummer, Rick Elliot (Otis Rush, Walter Trout) and bassist Nate Morefield (Fines Tasby, Max Bangwell, American Jesus) Erich renamed the band Good Fortune Band. By September, the new line up was rehearsing vigorously and began playing local shows in November. After finalizing a one album record deal with a small regional label, Good Fortune Band entered the studio to begin work on Soul Voyage in February of 2003. Boasting a sound that combines the blues and rock roots of Rick and Nate, and Erich's soulful vocal style and tasty guitar work, Good Fortune's first CD is a favorite among rockers and blues fans alike. More recently, GFB has returned to the studio, this time deciding to produce the effort themselves. They've re-recorded a few of the tracks from the Soul Voyage sessions, some new original material and for the first time a few cover songs. The same earthy combination has also helped Good Fortune create quite a buzz in the local club scene. Having played shows at a number of LA and Orange County's more prominent blues and rock clubs, Good Fortune makes new fans every time they take the stage.

Your musical influences
Good Fortune Band's sets consist of covers by everyone from Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan to The Cure, Johnny Cash and Otis Redding. And amongst the familiar covers are great original songs along the lines of Tom Petty, Dave Matthews, and even The Arc Angels. The band is capable of doing everything from small acoustic shows in brewpubs and neighborhood bars to playing packed houses at the Coach House and BB Kings. Private parties and charity events, are also places where the band feels perfectly at home. They can floor a crowd four hours a night or set the world on fire in a 35 minute barn-burner.
