Warmest greetings, everyone. Welcome to Glen Stephens' very own little slice of the SoundClick empire. On here you'll find about a dozen or so of my songs. They range from acoustic ballads to pop/rock - with perhaps the odd dash of watered-down reggae here and there! Enjoy listening, maybe drop me a line telling me what you think?
Band/artist history
I don't have a band. Nowadays, with the wonders of modern technology I can overdub all the instruments myself and sound like a fully functioning band without leaving my computer.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Not any more. Age and a total lack of interest combined to rescue me from the world of spit and sawdust pubs, private functions and grimy working men's clubs where obese women in Primark clothing play bingo and generally take up lots of space.
Your musical influences
Songwriters. I'm old enough to remember the writers from the legendary Brill Building (Carol King, Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman, Neil Sedaka etc), and all of these people in one way or another have had a massive influence on me. So too have The Beatles (probably more than anyone else in living memory, actually). I'm also a massive fan of the Abba guys, Burt Bacharach, Albert Hammond, Holland/Dozier and Holland of the early Motown songs, Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman (Mud, Sweet, Suzi Quatro - the whole 70's Bubblegum/Glam Rock stuff). Actually, I just like a good pop song.
What equipment do you use?
Now let's not get too technical, eh? People will be switching off en-masse if I go down that particular road.
Anything else?
Nah!
