The music is storytelling for the new millenium with unsinkable melodies... Diego brings the story back to music.
Diego grew up in Pordenone, close to Venice in Northern Italy. He got his first record deal at 16 years old and toured Italy with his very successful punk band Ice and The Iced. However compulsory military service intervened and the band were forced to split up. He later journeyed to America on a soul searching trip and stumbled into the burgeoning New Age scene. He returned to Italy and started up the very successful New Age label, Sentemo, putting out solo albums from Europe's finest musicians. Four years later Diego realized he was turning into a record exec and sold the business. "I didn't have time to write anymore," he explains, "and I felt that I needed to write songs and make music again."
He took all the amazing musicians he'd met and produced as the label head and used them on his album Millionaire. "The result was very orchestral," muses the singer. "It was a lot of strings, piano and percussion but no drums or electric guitar. It all worked." Millionaire did very well in Europe. So Diego decided it was time to cross the Atlantic.
Hollywood beckoned.
He got involved with a songwriting agency called Taxi and honed his skills. He built a studio in his house in Los Angeles, put a band together that included a string section, and quietly began to play around town. Soon many celebs were showing up at his shows and his audience began to swell. Diego worked passionately on his songs and the galvanizing EP This is Hollywood was born.
