Based in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Corporate War is a four-piece Hard Rock band. Influenced by Metallica, Machine Head, Slipknot & Pantera, our sound is heavy and hard-hitting with an occasional rock ballad showing our melodic side. The band has been together since 2000 and within the past year has really started to make inroads on the SA music scene.
Band/artist history
In 2001 Corporate War recorded 2 singles: “Godforsaken Mess” and “Senseless Loyalty” -
both of which featured on Barney Simon’s show (“The Night Zoo”) on 5fm.
In June 2001 we played the Battle of the Bands in Jeffrey’s Bay during the Billabong Surf Pro and were impressive enough to be invited back the following year to play the festival.
We have played at all the Port Elizabeth clubs, including “Pool City” and “Tapas” and have been invited to play at many BMX and skateboarding compos.
During 2003 we completed our first full length CD (self-produced). Shaughn Pieterse (Witchdoctor Records, Durban) liked it enough to invite us to play a show on 6 December, to see our live act.
In Feb ‘04 Corporate War proudly came first against PE’s top bands in the “Battle on the Beach”, Blue Water Bay - attended by nearly 1000 people, as well as CBfm DJs. The judges were particularly impressed with our guitar work, and our songs were playlisted on CBfm.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes! All the time! At local clubs "Tapas", "Jack Hammers" We love to play live!
