Nolan: I think that our band is mostly about love. And well, yeh, love.
Nathan: I tend to write about current, pressing issues. I think this is what audiences want to hear most.
Nolan: Sometimes when we play shows we try and take our shirts off. However, this is followed shortly by the shirts being put back on.
Nathan: At last count, I believe we've had 3,415 panties thrown onstage at us. Mostly at me, but sometimes Nolan gets the really dirty ones.
Nathan: It all started on Pa Coolidge's farm back in '73. Nolan and I left with knapsacks...
Nolan: ...and my guitar...
Nathan: Yes...well, anyway, we left with our knapsacks and Nolan's guitar on our backs and Pa hollered "Why aren't you workin the farm!?"
And I answered "I'm leavin' , Pa. Ain't never gonna come back." Pa said, "well what about me and your mother? are we gonna starve? what's to become of your little sister?" And Nolan turned to me and said "Let's start a band." That's pretty much it. I think our parents died.
Nolan: Nathan told that story beautifully, and even more importantly, accurately. I have nothing more to add here.
Nolan: Yeh, we play live. I'm not gonna get into any details here, but yeh, live is what we play.
Nathan: Uhh we did a few good shows in Cincy and Detroit...We played 'Jive City back in '87....right Nolan, '87, '86?
Nolan: If memory serves me correctly...yes...although there will always be a place in my heart for all those gigs we did at those retirement homes...
Nolan: I donno if Uncle Jesse from Full House counts, but well, if he does then him.
Nathan: I'm gonna go with Iggy Pop. Yeeep, mainly Ol' Iggy.
Nolan: I think in a way I was sorta Nathan's influence, and Nathan was mine.
Nolan: Well, there's always the guitar. And Nathan's voice, if you wanna count that. (I don't)
Nolan: Nathan still wets the bed.
Nathan: Nolan stabs hobos.
...for food.
Nolan: I get so hungry...sometimes...
