Carnival Carnival
Sadly, this song is all too real for many Michigan residents. -A personal favorite.

Whiskey, Tears, and Trains Whiskey, Tears, and Trains
I wanted to write a song about trains; trains are cool.

Shine On Shine On
Dedicated to Ron Koss (my second cousin) from Detroit's own (original) Savage Grace (circa 1969-1971).

Bored to Booze Bored to Booze
Written several years ago during a bit of a darker period. Apologies to Michael Ness, and the Social Disortion tune 'Ball and Chain.'

Bethesda Bethesda
Moving isn't always easy... especially when you move to a different state and start a new job the day before 9-11. Thanks to JL for playing all the instruments (except acoustic rhythm guitar).

Sooner or Later Sooner or Later
Written circa 1984 by myself and MW. Finished up in 2002 and recorded in December 2007.

Jack Jack
If Neil Young's song 'Borrowed Tune' got together with Jack White at an acid party, this is the song that would be the result of their union

No Sense No Sense
This song is about the Virginia Tech killings. Thanks to JL for playing all the instruments on this one.

Built on Goodbyes Built on Goodbyes
Written in 1990. I was 22 and she was 18. Things didn't quite work out.

Caitlin Caitlin
I read a news story about the senseless murder of a 16 year old girl by her mother's boyfriend. I was moved to write this song.

Gone Gone
I wanted to write a riff-based rock song, so I did (and the dogs in the neighborhood still won't stop howling). This is about as close to metal as I've gotten. The weird guitar sound is a Digitech whammy pedal (used frequently by Jack White).

John D. Washington John D. Washington
I had a weird dream about my grandfather a couple months before he passed away. I wrote this song about it.

Not to Cry Not to Cry
So often we learn not to express our emotions when growing up; then all of a sudden we're adults and we get into relationships and we have to learn to feel again. Well, that's basically what this song is about. Written in 1991 when I was 23.
