A prolonged crescendo, like its more famous namesake. Ravel certainly implied that his Boléro had some madness about it, and this one also is a disturbing and menacing piece. The machinery is being smashed.

Sea Change takes us to deeper water, still in the harbour but now much closer to the open sea. It is a calm day, but we are still awed by the apparent power of the sea, as it swells and surges under the sea wall and then retreats. There is a breeze
