The Andy Bowie Quartet play every Sunday night at 8.00 at the Tram Depot tramdepotcambridge.co.uk/ in Cambridge (England), having played for the last 13 years nearly every Sunday in various Cambridge venues. We try to keep renewing our repertoire, and have occasional guests from the national and international jazz scene.
We also do gigs for functions, etc., and have played at events with the future monarch and his wife, and the Archbishop of Canterbury, in attendance. We have played for years, too, at Lord Rees, the Astronomer Royal's, Midsummer Dinner, and for social events at numerous academic conferences.
The Tram Depot is a large traditional pub with great beer, food, and company.

Your musical influences
Everyone from the mainstream to modern jazz tradition, from Coleman Hawkins and Ben Webster, to Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, and Wayne Shorter. Martin Hallmark, our regular pianist, has studied with Chick Corea and writes compositions influenced by contemporary pianists, like Robert Glasper.

Dear Mr. Bowie, you and your bandmates play "My Old Flame" like you know the lyrics, not just the melody, and you performed it at just the right tempo. Your bassist, your drummer and your pianist sustain an intimate, nostalgic mood that is perfect for this sweet, yet rueful song. To my mind, this what jazz quartets were made to play best. Thank you and the rest of your musicians for treating this song so gently and respectfully. If I lived in England I would visit your club every night.
Wonderful lounge atmosphere enhances this incredible jazzy sax performance...cool and sweet riffs that is nothing short of brilliant...Totally enjoyed listening this gem...(oh, yeah the piano solo is so good).
