September Again September Again
An instrumental song;kind of sad, wistful, almost nostalgic. Sort of ABCBA structure while sticking to a very solid chord structure and base theme all the way through.
Song 3 Song 3
Melancholy song, instrumental with four guitar parts. Interaction between the parts forms a revolving, cyclic, almost ocean wave like rise and fall.
Solo guitar player. Songs emphasize grooves, structure and simplicity. Songwriting relies on basic structures; repetitive with subtle variation, alteration of themes. Think Philip Glass without the musical genius but with more of a rock/jazz sensibility.
The improvisation has one overarching rule, to avoid attempts at displays of virtuosity and instead concentrate on melody and form. Most of the improvisations display a form of progressing on themes also, with references to earlier motifs, altering musically and/or rhythmically and growing slowly yet steadily towards...whatever it ends up growing into. What equipment do you use?
