Acoustic General

Ramblin Round are an acoustic trio based in South Wales UK. Consisting of Dave Adamson (vocal, guitar slide and harmonica) Pete Bradshaw (mandolin, guitar) and Jim Handley (guitar). They’ve been playing together for about a year and have been developing material ready to start gigging this summer if the opportunities come along. The repertoire borrows from blues, folk and country and could be loosely fitted with the Americana label. The emphasis is on a mellow acoustic groove. None of us are fancy musicians but manage to put some songs together and usually please a crowd. About three quarters of the set are self-penned songs by Dave (see myspace.com/daiadamson).
Band/artist history
Have spent the last year developing songs and getting to work together better.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Will be getting some gigs this summer in the South wales area.
Your musical influences
Touches of Blues, country, folk, Americana with names like Neil Young, Uncle Tupelo, Steve Erale, Emmylou Harris, Dixie Chicks, Brother Where art Thou soundtrack etc etc
What equipment do you use?
Dave plays a Brook Teign acoustic guitar, Pete a Taylor and Jim a Takamine. Pete also plays most of the set on sweet Capek mandolin. Playing live we like to mike up the instruments rather than use internal pick ups which struggle to give the true acoustic tone. We have a ‘back to the wood’ philosophy which tries to capture the most accurate acoustic vibe. We use condenser microphones (Rhodes and Samson) on all kit usually through some Marshall AR50 amps but have recently invested in some Behringer PA kit.
