No real band. Just me attempting to write a Java program to generate music that is interesting and easy to listen to. So far, I've had enough success to continue with this project. It's very challenging but since I did software and web application development for 40 years I thought I'd give it a try and hope for the best. The output of the music generator is a multi track MIDI file which is easy to edit. I use a new version of Cakewalk to select patches, tweak the volumes, velocities & panning of the instruments. The MIDI generator program uses text script files as input for note pitch & note durations and also for chord progressions. A lot of random elements are inserted by the program so that each MIDI file created is different in some way.
I used to play acoustic rythm guitar with my son Jim who plays a Cajun accordian. We jammed a lot and play downtown in Fells Point on the street when the weather is good. It's always a lot of fun. We meet people from all over U.S. and the rest of the world.
Nope.
Cajun, bluegrass, classical, jazz, folk, rock, country, electronica and almost everything. I love most all music genres.
Sun Java SDK 6, Gateway DX4200-09 computer with home premium 64 bit Vista. Sonar Producer 8 and Goldwave for tweaking the stereo mix. I also use a Yamaha AW16G for recording external devices, an e-Mu Planet Earth rack synth and Yam DXG-505 kb.
