I'm sad beyond words to inform visitors to this page that Mark 'Lightnin' Brown passed away on the first day of 2008. He had been fighting a non curable disease for several years. I attended his funeral in Bundaberg, Australia last week. He leaves behind his wife Honey, son Bader, daughter Coco, second son Declan and yet to be born daughter.

Well LB, hey , I was in Melbourne in 70...briefly, and mebs we passed by in the street back then, I would really like to think so , really. And I think it is about time we met up and played at least a bottle of whisky's worth, and I'm buying cos I know your favorite is "Old Buldog and Thistle" and that is a thin damn thin brew. ;^ ) Meet you half way ol pal. adios, Lovat

Howzit? from New Zealand. Rollin & Tumblin is GREAT. Heard a few slide riffs in my time but your playing and feel for this one rocked my sox. Awesome.

I love the way you play the blues, you can actually feel the pain, which isn't true for alot of blues today. You've inspired me to take up the lap steel or dobro (I definately want to sharpen my slide skills). Hope you get a chance to record some more tunes, allthough I'd love to venture over to Australia to listen. Peace

Hey Lightnin - Love your blues, love your touch with the resonator. It was a real pleasure to listen to someone who gets inside the feelin and plays from there. Thankyou. Peace soon come, WILDSANG
