SMR is the Belorussian break-beat project.
A record and selection of material is practically complete for a debut album today. The set of concert composition of command and rehearsal goes. The summer 2005 is a preliminary date of the start of appearances. With March a group began active promotion.Band/artist history
SMR as a musical project appeared in 1997. Stan Zhuravsky, known also as DJ Stanny Tape, is a founder and the "brain" of group. At different times different people entered in the complement of SMR, the stylistic colouring of music changed accordingly.
At the beginning SMR played Techno Hard-Core, Drumnbass and Break Beat. Later - Progressive House and Trance. SMR participated in many actions & festivals conducted in Belarus in 1997-2000.
Among them: "Propeller-97", "2 days of Mayday-99", "Break-beat in Baranovichy-2000".
A group came forward in Vitebsk, Minsk, Baranovichy.
DJ Tape worked with many Belorussian performers as an arranger and remixser:
"Aura Stylia", MS Birol, "TaGan" (EX-"North Block"), "Polstar Boys", "Archive", "Gentry", Nectos, Ultima & JT Dance, "Bathyscaphe", "Rustle of Streets", "Chocolates" and etc.
In the end 2002 - beginning 2003 years jointly with RGB Develop Clan the series of rap-parties called "The Birth of Hip Hop" were conducted.
In 2003 DJ Tape helped rap-organization named Music Corporation in organization of Hip Hop festival "Elements of Rhyme-2003", the result of which became: issue of 2 compilations of domestic rap and a gala-concert of winners.
In 2004, generalizing the produced material, the project of SMR goes back to primary conception of music and begins the record of a new program.
