lifeS P A N
Just me right now, producing drum n bass music. I wish I had a flash.
Never Let Me Down Never Let Me Down
This is a remix of RHV's house tune never let me down. I spiced it up a bit with cleaner melodies and a dnb ending. I did a lot with the vocals, like filtering, chopping,a nd laying over, and it bleeds with beautiful melody. Tell me what you think!
Elysium Elysium
A smooth and simple ambient dnb rolla. Padded melodies, breaks, and self-recorded keybaords. Its being played on local radio here in town as well. Drop some words if you feel like it.
In The Dark (Hedbob'n Remix) In The Dark (Hedbob'n Remix)
This was my entry for the Shelley Harland contest featured on acidplanet.com. It was a slow trip hop song, but i remixed it as an ambient dnb roller. Did a lot with beats and backing melody. Let me know how you like it!
Back To You (lifeS P @ N Style) Back To You (lifeS P @ N Style)
This is a club remix of LFO's "Back To You" with sexy female vocals, bumpin' drums, and paddy melodies. Everything you could want in a filter house song. Drop a review if you want.
Brown Sug@r (Deep House Remix) Brown Sug@r (Deep House Remix)
This is a crazy blend of genres, combining Jazz with my own brand of House. This was my entry into the BWB contest on acidplanet, and was one of the more different things I have done. Let me know what you think!
My real name is Carl Gibson, and I'm a 17 year old 12th grade student from Kentucky. I'm also a preacher's son. (You won't believe the Drum n bass scene here.../sarcasm/)I started drumming in 6th grade, got a set in 8th grade for my 14th birthday, and have been self taught ever since. I'm in a marching band (don't laugh...), I march 3rd bass drum, and won a state title in 2003. Ive been producing since 1998, and I am self taught at that as well. I joined acidplanet.com in July 2002, and am very well known on that site, as well as getting #1 overall on dnbscene.com several times. I make all of my own drumbreaks, but use loops for melody. Whew. I think that's it.Started drumming in 1998 as well as producing, joined several different bands since freshman year, (penfifteen, the rimmjobs, suspended) and got into the dnb scene in 2002-2003.Have you performed in front of an audience?Oh snap. Oh man...there are way too many. My main electronic influences are probably Aphex Twin, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers. Squarepusher, Daft Punk, Massive Attack, St. Germain, early Moby, and Underworld. I also love listening to Rage Against The Machine, Propagandhi, and other political rock bands, since I am an arch liberal. I am really into downtempo kinds of music like Portishead, Tricky, and anything that sounds trippy. Some good rap is Jurassic 5, Kool Keith, Dr. Octagon, Deltron, and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien. I will listen to rap, as long as the lyrics are inventive and creative. Rappers these days us the same old lyrics over and over again (i.e. bling bling, smack my hoe, pop in a clip, etc.) and it gets old. I think that's all for now. whew.ACID Pro 4.0, Soundforge 5.0, Vegas Video 4.0 Beta, 10000's of loops, a shiny black CB Drumset with a Sabian B8 hi hat and crashride, and a Ziljian ZXT rock ride. a 16 channel mixing board, and a whole bunch of recording equipment like a behringer 12 channel mixing board, a fostex digital recorder, an 85 watt samson studio amplifier, and my trusty sony vaio.Collaborate with me!
I consider myself to be one of the best on the internet at house and drum n bass, im willing to do some rap beats, and i could make you drum loops if you need em.
