Somewhere, sometime, an injustly imprisoned someone has finally secured his freedom and has just reached the shores of the most beautiful place in the universe.
Funky Monkey Funky Monkey
Very short song in which I decided to try my hand at some of the basics concerning funk. Brass stylings are just doubled notes but the drums are all me and my BFD (and my V-Drums). Hope you enjoy!
Rhythm Test Rhythm Test
Just a rhythm test using the new NS 7 Kit "Free" from Natural Studio. Based on a MIDI file that was submitted to the user forum with some tweeks of my own.

Built around 5 notes, this song is anything but complex. Simple orchestral arrangement, basic bass... nothing special... except... the acoustic drums and hammin' it up with some solo guitar. Enjoy!

Bit of an exploration in blending styles. Watch out, it gets decently heavy at the end!
I've been playing around with music since I was 3. First it was violin, then drums, then piano. I used to be in a band when I was young. We achieved a modicum of success through a number of rather large live gigs. However, my musical tastes tended towards the more esoteric. I love a proliferation of sound (not noise) and music in my songs so that's what I set out to achieve.Have you performed in front of an audience?Peter Gabriel: His album "The Passion" almost made me want to quit making music altogether 'cause it was that good.
NIN: Especially "The Downward Spiral". The absolute sonic assault and brutal imagination of that album still astounds me.
Vangelis: Who else could make synth music work in a movie about olympic sprinters from the 1920's.
John Powell: Like Hans Zimmer on speed and far more attenuated orchestration. This guy rocks!
Led Zeppelin: Goes without saying. The best pure-rock band of all time.
Tchaikovsky: I love the fact that he really only wrote when he was inspired. He never forced the issue. I guess he was just inspired a lot of the time.
Steve Vai: The most excellent guitarist. I love his playing style and music in general.Hardware: Motif ES7, Virus KC, couple of bloody fast computers.
Software: Tracktion (the simplest and most effective sequencing software I've ever used), impOSCar, Rhino, z3ta, Cameleon 5000, Crystal...Music should always be about having huge amounts of fun. I love making music just for myself but its kinda cool for other people to listen to it and get some sort of emotional response from it.
My music is not for everyone. But those that like it say they really like it. That's gratifying to me.
