The West Coast is famous for the gangsta rap era of the 90s and the historical rise and fall of the great Death Row Records. Since then, the West has been in search of a stand out star that will return the West to their glory days of the mid-90s. In a West Coast rap scene dominated by gangsta rap, The Whole 9 effectively blends lyrical hip hop, with his West Coast experiences therefore reaching many audiences. Blazing on the scene with his first project The Cloud 9 Mixtape, The Whole 9 is showing the West he soon will be a force to be wrecking with. ....
Band/artist history
The Whole 9 grew up on the streets of Gardena, Los Angeles, Inglewood, and the Inland Empire, perfecting his style at each stop. The Whole 9 recalls, At the age of 13 I began writing down rhythms and putting my flow together. In high school, I patterned my flow after a gang of MCs like Canibus, Tupac, Eminem, Jadakiss, Snoop and Jay-Z. Then, I later began to create my own style and flow, putting my own West Coast spin on a combination and blend of their styles. Growing up in Southern California it wouldnt be LA without Mexicans/Black Love Brown Pride and the sets again, The Whole 9 quoted 2Pac to explain how he learned how to incorporate Spanish lines into his flow. Ultimately, I want to bring the party back to the West Coast, The Whole 9 explains. It is not just about bangin your hood. It is about grabin that 4-0 from the store, chillin on the block, hollarin at bitches, and hittin the Hollywood clubs. The Whole 9 successfully mixes the party tracks with the West Coast gritty street stories on his first project The Cloud 9 Mixtape..... In his first public release, The Whole 9s style and flow is unquestionably genius. People have been telling me to put shit out for years, but I just wanted the flow to be immaculate. The Whole 9 says about his first project. After you hear the tracks there is no denying The Whole 9 is built for greatness. Ill put anything up is his motto and Google The Whole 9 is his slogan.
