Feedback Monster (Vortex Mix) Feedback Monster (Vortex Mix)
The 1st ruff mix of the FB monster with some heavy duty feedback on the V-Synth GT guitar.
Luna Kat Luna Kat
My beautiful niece Kira and her husband Todd just had their first child, a lovely daughter they named Luna Katherine. I dedicate this song to her and her extended family!
Distorto-Bug Distorto-Bug
Just blowin' off some steam in the Soundworld with this fun rocker. Mo's bug set the tone for this one by playing that thumping bass! One eye was on me, and the other on my woman! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! Rock on D-Bug! :-)
Future Wave Future Wave
A rough mix from an OASYS combination called "Wave of the Future."
Living in the 80's (Get Up and Dance!) Living in the 80's (Get Up and Dance!)
A rocking send up of 80's synth-pop from the Soundworld on this one. I tried to get a clearer vocoder sound but finally just settled on this best take out of 17 tries. I'll take a nice break before I attempt another version!
.:':.Elemental.:':. .:':.Elemental.:':.
This one is dedicated to the master of the 8-string fretless bass, Mark Egan, who along with Danny Gottlieb fronted the great jazz group 'Elements' back in the late 80's and early 90's.
Gunga Kalunga (The Guardians) Gunga Kalunga (The Guardians)
What started as another spacey Jazz tune (ala Arcturus) turned into a Worldbeat jam with the talking drum. Mo had sent me this artwork and it must have influenced me. Thanks Mo!
A Tale of the Trick ;-) A Tale of the Trick ;-)
I've always been a big Genesis fan, from the Gabriel era and beyond. The OASYS combination used on this one reminded me of the "Trick Of The Tail"/"Wind & Wuthering" timeframe.
Alpha and Omega/Psalm 23 Alpha and Omega/Psalm 23
He is the Alpha and the Omega. The first and the last. The beginning and the end. And the reason for the season!
Coppin' a 'Tude (SHROOOM!) Coppin' a 'Tude (SHROOOM!)
Proof that anything can happen in the Soundworld on any given night! I didn't plan on doing a Funk Rock tune, but this groove was just too infectious to pass up. So here's to coppin' that 'tude...with a one-off warts and all rough mix version.
Razz-Ma-Tazz Jazz Razz-Ma-Tazz Jazz
The new and improved Razz-Ma-Tazzer from the Soundworld. I had to scrap the entire 3rd version due to timing errors and when this one started acting up...I hit the record button fast before it went totally left on me!
The Sentinel The Sentinel
The Sentinel keeps his lonely vigil to insure his people are safe from harm. Another great OASYS combination that deftly mixes KARMA with wavesequencing percussion elements laid the groundwork for this one.
Arcturus (Red Star) Arcturus (Red Star)
One of the Giant Reds in the night sky also known as Alpha Bootis gave this spacy free-form Jazz tune its name.
Santa's Wild Sleigh Ride (Christmas 2009) Santa's Wild Sleigh Ride (Christmas 2009)
Santa's loading up the sleigh and readying the Reindeer and getting ready to roll. Merry Christmas everyone!
Free Spirit Free Spirit
Korg gifts us with 96 free combinations for Thanksgiving. I wasted no time in working on this one. I dedicate this one to Jack Hotop, the venerable Korg sound master who has wowed us with his sonic creations for all of these years...and still does!
Catalyst Catalyst
Another one from the Catalyst 1 collection of combinations for the OASYS. I just love that ringing sound of a heavily chorused guitar.
Solstice (Winter's Day Jazz) Solstice (Winter's Day Jazz)
It's that time of the season to reflect on another year almost gone by and enjoy the sights, sounds and colours of Christmas. Light up that fireplace and get cozy!
Day at the Flying Carpet Races Day at the Flying Carpet Races
Close your eyes and take a trip on the Magic Carpet Ride! Put that rug in high gear and take the finish line! Another great combi from the Catalyst 1 collection for the OASYS provided the seed for this one.
Mirror, Mirror Mirror, Mirror
Named after one of my favourite Star Trek episodes, where we get to see a bearded Spock. My tribute to prog rock bands like Spock's Beard, Marillion and The Flower Kings. Version 2, but MIDI quirks were driving me crazy! I'll attempt a v.3 later.
