GI Joe vs. Action Man (Live) GI Joe vs. Action Man (Live)
This is the first song we ever wrote, and was Recorded Live at The Ship Albion on the 6th August 2004
YouthinAsia are a 4 piece punk band that fuse the old school sound of Clash/Stiff Little Fingers, with newer punk rock such as Green Day. We have supported the likes of 4ft Fingers, Vanilla Pod, Route 215, KneeHigh and The Wayriders.
Band/artist history
About 2 years ago, a sex maniac by the name of 'Danny' and a fat, hairy,
retard known only as 'Marc' hated each other. But in time they began to realise
that they both had alot in common. They both drank alot, smoked, liked to procreate
and also both had a liking of similar music. So they started a band. After recruiting
a young man known as 'Chip' on the drums, they began to discuss what covers they
should do, a bit of Ramones, Guttermouth, The Clash, NoFX, Less Than Jake, Bad
Religion, and so on, until Chip suggested a KoRn song....so after a long search
a replacement was found in the shape of Mr Chumley himself, TomPom. Mike Matthews,
a beginner guitarist with a fetish for pop punk also joined. The only thing that
Chip did do for the band was come up with the name, YouthInAsia. So after one practice
YIA took to the stage at thier newly crowned local, the Black Swan. After sucking
big time, they opened at their native Grammar School for a charity event. By the
end of 2002, YIA had gigged a few times, and were starting to improve and make a
name for themselves. In early 2003 YouthInAsia began to incorporate thier own
matierial into thier setlist. The songs 'GI Joe vs. Action Man' and 'Carrieanne'
soon became well known tunes in the local area. In the summer of 2003 YIA embarked
on some festival gigs, such as 'NickFest', 'Fenmuse' and 'Hogfest', The latter two
both being in neighbouring town Wisbech, with Vanilla Pod being one of the main
acts at Hogfest. By this time Mike had sadly left the band to pursue a career
in pornography, all the best Mike. In October 2003, YouthInAsia went into SteelSound
Recording Studio's (the same place as boyband North and South - NO SWEAT!) to record
thier debut E.P. The 'Butt Seriously' E.P contains 5 of the bands original songs,
and is still available for purchase at the price of 4. The band continued to gig
into 2004, In February Simon Parker joined YouthInAsia on guitar, and they are still
going strong, gearing up for a year of gigging, constantly writing new matierial,
and preparing to go into the studio to record their 2nd E.P..........
