YOUNG AJ, born in Memphis, TN, son of Memphis veteran rapper Al Kapone.
At the young age of 8 he was inspired to write his first verse when he saw a performance by Bow Wow. But it was his father that introduced him to the Memphis sound that he helped established along with Eightball and MJG and Triple Six Mafia. His dad is known for having a very high energy stage performance so he learned how to work a stage at a young age. He has always been surrounded by music and the history of hip hop.
He has always travel with his dad and spent alot of time with him in the studio. One day while his dad was doing some work for legendary E-40 he impressed his dad with one of his own lyrics and a performance. His father decided to see what he could do in front of a audience. At one of his dad shows his father pulled him on stage and told him to spit something and he did without hesitation. The crowd loved him and his performance was not like a 10 year old that he was. So he began to perform with his dad at certain events. He very quickly gain his own fan base.
As a young kid he watch his father produce hits songs for movies such as Hustle & Flow,Black Snake Moan ,and Stomp The Yard. His dad helped land him a small role in the movie Hustle & Flow with a verse on the soundtrack called "Get Crunk Get Buck". Terrance even gave him some quick quitar lessons himself. He has shook hands with best and has had many of celebrities to take him under their wings. Always the youngest out the click but holding his own. Thats when he came up with the name Young Aj. Born ready is what he told a reporter during an interview and you can believe that he is what he said.
That following year he was introduced on Memphis Drama VOL.4 CD which included various artist with a verse on the hit song" Walk Wit It". That same year he have a hot club hit called" My Beltbuckle" produced by his dad(Al Kapone).
Now at the age of 12 he has a hot radio single in full rotation with his dad Al Kapone and Sir Vince. He has offers to perform at sweet sixteen parties, skating rink events, Memphis in May event, birthday parties, school event and clubs. This is just the beginning he is been molded to go straight to the pros and his dad has made it possible to cut out the middle man to make sure Young AJ knows and understands the music business ups and downs.
