This phrase gives you an idea of what to expect from X-Pleasures debut album. A strong debut from
a talented and reflected band, that takes the listener on a journey of musical, visual and lyrical experience and pleasure.
MUSICAL X-PLEASURE
The X-PLEASURE album is a concept-album, almost like a rock opera, but based on different moods instead of a storyline. The songs have musical bridges between them, combining the songs into one musical piece, where musical and lyrical themes are taken through different stages of the record.
X-PLEASUREs genre have been called art-pop/rock by reviewers, and they perform strong melodies together with musical virtuouso. Producer Anders Buaas have been working closely with the band over a period of two years bringing the music from ideas to disc. The album was mixed by Lars Klokkerhaug, a well-known producer/engineer who has worked with Motorpsycho and Zeromancer for several years.
VISUAL X-PLEASURE
The CD-cover contains a 24 page booklet with photographs taken by art-photographer Jan Roger Bodin, who is well known from exhibits in Europe and the USA. The photographs are made to match the lyrical and musical expression of X-PLEASURE, and the album is also released as a limited edition book, with a more in-depth look at Bodins work.
LYRICAL X-PLEASURE
Vocalist Ruben Heide Syversen has written all the lyrics for this album, and he has drawn inspiration from the Revelations. The lyrics have gone throught many different stages during the recording process, to match the musical moods on the album. Photographer Jan Roger Bodin has also used the lyrics as inspiration for the photographs in the CD-booklet. Ruben takes the listener on a lyrical journey that starts "far beyond" and ends at a "perfect place".
THE LIVE-EXPERIENCE
Norway Records AS has just released X-PLEASUREs debut album in Norway, and the response has been really breathtaking. At the releaseparty the band made headlines breaking the record of ticket-sales at the venue they were playing. X-PLEASURE performs the whole concept-album live as well, as a 60 minutes musical piece without pauses. They have performed as support act for Norwegian stars Briskeby, and at the By:Larm and Quart-festivals...
