Scratch Session Scratch Session

I took a 9th Wonder beat and scratched it up with it. It was more of an experiment that I recorded.

Hip Hop General

I like hip hop, it's what I do. It's a culture I live til the death. I just want to make music, regardless of being paid or not. I'm about the free form self expression that Hip Hop is. So I combine an extensive vocab and beats to do just that. I also love to let loose on the turntables. I'll allow no industry to touch and tarnish it with the marketing schemes for glam, jewels, rims, scandalous women (even though we all love them), etc etc. What I do is real, and what I am is real. However, I am about having a good time, throwing jokes inbetween, and sharing it all with some cool ass people. We all just want to party like rockstars. So stick around and keep your ears glued to the speakers, you might hear something you like.
Band/artist history
Just me. I've been doing this since about 13. Just writing lyrics and freestyling. Which I find funny because I wanted to start an alternative rock band when I was around that age. But I found it so much easy to use my vernacular in rhyme schemes. Plus I've loved Hip Hop so much. So I went in that direction. Bought some turn tables and started using computer programs to experiment with beats and all that. For the time being, I wouldn't mind forming a nice group. That's what I've been looking into, doing some collabs and forming awesome relationships. Maybe throw in a little bit of the rock feel and just vibe out on that.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
At the moment, the only live shows I do is when everyone is standing around in a circle, kicking little cipher sessions at parties and shit. But I'll perform anywhere. On stage, my bedroom, a party, on the corner of the street, etc. I like the attention, but for the most part people still don't know. So I'm trying to get out there. Seriously, someone get me somewhere! I don't care. I think my personal special moment is when my boy Jay heard me spit for the first time. He was like "hold on, no wonder this man is worthy, I did not expect that." And it's pretty funny that still some of my friends don't know my lyrical skill. Like I said before, I pretty much keep it under wraps.
Your musical influences
Everything. All musical styles. My environment, everything going on in the world. But from the whole Hip Hop end, I've always been a fan of Nas. Talib Kweli and all of his projects and collabs, Mos Def, KRS-One, A Tribe Called Quest, Heiroglyphics, Wu Tang Clan, Gym Class Heroes are pretty dope, Jurassic 5 and shit like that.
What equipment do you use?
Everything and anything that's productive. Right now I've been rocking on my Gemini turntables. I'm sure alot of people out there are familiar with Fruity Loops, Garage Band, and Pro Tools.
Anything else?
Take a listen and let me know what you think. I take criticism constructively. But don't know it until you rock it.
