The Third Half History:
In the summer of 2004, Matt and Shane got together to write and record a few songs. Matt played guitar and drums, Shane sang and played keyboards. They soon needed a bass player, and Josh joined in. Matt and Shane joked around with Josh, that he was now the third half of the band! Hey, that might be a good name for a band someday!
Josh soon left, and Brandon came in on drums, then came Steve on guitar, then Ethan on bass, Shane left the band, and Matt took over singing.
Matt, Steve, Brandon, and Ethan were given the opportunity for their first gig, but what should the band's name be? After trying Blindspot and The Angels of Evermore, they settled on The Third
Half! The Third Half later played at the Glenwood Talent Show, and finished 3rd.
A month later, they finished 4th in the 2005 Findlay Art's Festival "Battle of the Bands". Not bad for a bunch of guys who just graduated Middle School!
As fate would have it, Ethan met a girl, and the girl was more important than the band. Shane reenters the scene as the new bass player, playing a bass he had purchased from Ethan.
With Shane aboard, and two weeks of bass playing under his belt, The Third Half performed at the Vanlue Fest Talent Show and won the competition!
In August 2005, Brandon informed the band that he had to "quit for awhile". When Brandon was ready to come back, he found he had been replaced on drums by Michael.
In Michael's first public appearance with The Third Half in March, 2006, The Third Half won the Findlay YMCA's "Battle of the Bands"!
