Band/artist history
WoC started out as a solo electronic project undertaken by Paul Eastham. Through lack of the right musicians he set out on his own in his tiny bedroom studio with a synth a 4 track and a six string guitar tuned down to A ,writing and recording songs like SYSTEM and all other synth electro industrial tracks. The orchestral side of things happened when he wrote the arangement for DESIESE, a lush melody that builds and builds until you feel like fucking yourself. After realising that performing his material live would suck without a band , He recruited his old drummer from a band called ORPHEUS Steve Phillips ,which gave the drum parts something very special. When paul got pressured into joining a band called milestone based up in winsford where he met up with drummer Mark Beal for which their styles clicked from the word go! Although soon after the completion of their debut album Paul very angrily stormed out in the middle of the night and hiked back to Southampton, leaving Mark to complete the launch shows alone. Mark then went on to play two more shows himself and after refusing to sign contracts with the band he quit. One year later... Paul received a phone call from Awen records which was the label behind the milestone project. Asking if he would be interested in co writing some tracks for a welsh singer called Aimee Duffy with mark on drums again and engineering. Paul said yes to the project and made his way up to pentreth north Wales to begin production. Paul decided to recruit the bassist Greg Latham from a limp bizkit tribute band for which paul was the singer two years previous. January 2004. Mark moves to Southampton to join paul, steve and greg , becoming one of two drummers in Winter of Clowns.....ooohhhh yeahhhhh!!! WoC setup their studio and began rehersing the material composed by Paul and WoC for the bands debut album with paul playing 7string guitars.. April 2004. WoC found guitar prodigy dan plummer in a local Southampton paper. After one week of playing with the band they new he was the guitarist they had been hoping for. woc is born

winter of clowns have released a solo piano album by thier singer.it isnt metal in any way shape or form but it shows that they really are musicians who know thier shit. the reason for releasing the classical album first is so that they dont get accused of being (sellouts) 10 years down the line when the singer goes back too his roots of being an ex concert pianist. there will be a demo on here very soon. check out.... http://www.winterofclowns.com
