Experience White Collar MercyBand/artist history
Twas a cold night in February of 2002 when 4 kids from Millard, Nebraska joined forces to create this monstrosity they called a band. Brock and Danny already had a band with long time friends John Piniarksi and David Frolio. That band was called Three Foot Five. Brock and Danny could feel the band just wasn't working out so they quit with John and Dave and decided to go out on their own. Then an IDEA! Brock said HEY our friends Aaron (guitar, vocals) and Mark (bass) want to start a band. So Brock said HEY JOIN OUR BAND! And the band was formed. With Brock on guitar and vocals, Aaron on guitar and vocals, Mark on bass and Danny on drums they named this band BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUTS. After only 2 weeks of practicing they played their first show at a friend of a friends party. It went like any first show does they thought it sounded good but they sucked. So we practiced more and more. Then finally they got some fans around town. The majority of these fans were from Skutt Catholic High School. We played for one of their parties then BOOM. Our first 6 shows are because of the girls of Skutt High. THANKS!
Then after about 11 months of being a band and playing parties BSD decided it was time to start writing their own songs (for they were a cover band). So they went into their deep hole of depression and wrote music starting in December of 2002, then in February of 2003 their one-year anniversary they had their first 10 songs completed, and a problem arose. Mark got mad that Brock, Danny, and Aaron's side band The Inscrutables were going to play a show and not BSD. So he quit the band! But they pushed on and decided it was time to record their 10 songs on a cd. In April of 2003 they went into studio JEX in Millard, NE and recorded for 1 month. At the beginning of May they had their first cd and a new name, THE DEADBEATS.
They named the cd WHEN THE CHIPS ARE GONE THE PARITES OVER. They had their cd release party at Rebel's in Council Bluffs. The show went great and they sold some cd's.
When The Chips Are Gone-January 17th White Collar Mercy has progressed much since the release of their first cd "When The Chips Are Gone The Party's Over". In July of 2003 they started writing brand new originals. After 5 months of writing they came up with 11 brand new original songs. Also in the course of the past 7 months they have had an obvious name change from The Deadbeats to White Collar Mercy. The name came from their friend Andreas screen name which is?WhiteCollarMercy. White Collar Mercy has played with many bands lately such as My Raging Mind, Beef of the Sea, 2 Fingers To Freedom, Point Blanc (Barter the Trigger) The Cover Story, From Beyond, Your Face, Escaping Sobriety, and many more. They have grown tremendously since their first album. They went into the studio on January 17th and began to record their 2nd cd, which is simply titled?White Collar Mercy. The CD has an expected release of March/April 2004 release.
January 17th(begging of recording)-Present White Collar Mercy went into the studio on Saturday January 17th and started recording their new cd simply titled "White Collar Mercy". After 3 sessions of recording the band had 6 songs done and only 4 more to go. But the 6 they had done the band wasn't pleased with so they decided to take "Midol and coke" and "Taste I'll Never Forget" off the cd they also took of the 4 remaining songs to record. Then WCM decided to release their former bass player Mark for their new bass player Scott Siemens. and now the band has become a diverse blend of many different musical styles. And now the truth:
White Collar Mercy is a 5 man band hailing from Omaha, NE. They play Urpcore, yes Urpcore, the name created by the boys themselves. What is this "Urpcore" you might ask. Well many of time did WCM get the question, "what kind of band are you guys", the boys never had an answer. Then those same people who would ask them the question would see the band live and still be asking that question. White Collar Mercy doesnt just play one kind of music, they play so many different styles of music and mix so many styles a already existing title of music couldnt fit the band. So they create Urpcore (Erp...Core). White Collar Mercy is going into Bassline Studios to record their 2nd cd titled "Plastic Faces, Recorded Voices" it is being produced not only by Tim C. but also local singer/songwriter Kyle Harvey lead man of Kyle Harvey and The Great Disapearing Act who produced his latest cd "Holidays In Spain" (do check it out!) The tracks for the cd so far are...
1.The Forgotten Prelude
2.Nothings Alright
3.Love Me, Hate Me
4.Slit my throat
5.Anathema Cine
6.Apologies in Red
7.Like a ghost in the air

"Slit My Throat.." is awesome! I love the lead guitar and bass cause it's so catchy. The cool thing is, it's kinda like emo-core, but it's not depressing or angry, ..it's happy!
