What We Are is an all original group based out of Columbus Ohio, whose music ranges from atmospheric groove to power rock.Band/artist history
The makings of What We Are began in October of 2001,when Nathan began collaborating on acoustic jams with Lou and Michael. All three had played in various projects for numerous years, prior to writing together. For the first few months there was no real sense of direction, only a common love of playing music. The group would be further solidified in January of 2002 with the addition of Ryan Combs on bass guitar. Over the next year and a half, WWA experimented with different instrumentation such as saxophone, electric guitar, and auxiliary percussion. During this time, WWA built a strong repertoire of original music, and performed heavily. With new life, in the fall of 2003, WWA took leave to prioritize musical creation, and begin work on their first professional album Allure of Sound. Now back as the original four members, WWA moves forward with new found energy and emotion, in hopes of bestowing happiness into the lives of all that will listen.Have you performed in front of an audience?We play live on rare occasions, when conditions are right and we can properly express ourselves musically. We love playing out live, as long as everyone in the venue works with a professional attitude. One of our favorite performances was our CD release concert at the Newport Music Hall in Columbus Ohio.
