Heavy Metal

It all began in 2000. The first line-up of the band was Dr. Extreem (guitar), The Madness (bass), Cherry Bomb (vocals) and Petey Cacca (Drums/Percussion which were produced electronically). They were all at Dr. Extreem and The Madness' house late one night and after a bizarre internet chat with one of The Madness' old friends, the band found the influence their first song, Extreme under the band name of The Apostles Of Hate.

They band has been known to draw influences from a number sources, some of which include The Misfits, Metallica, Sepultura, Devin Townsend (particularly Strapping Young Lad), Mr. Bungle, Pink Floyd and more. They don't only draw the influence from music as a llot of the writing is inspired by many horror films and stories. It is said that a lot of the songs also have a political undertone or underlying social commentary.

BAND HISTORY

The band decided to change the name of the band to Extreme World Order as well as changing the name of their first song to Apostles Of Hate. They still weren't happy. They then changed the name again but this time they got it right, Way Of The Extreme.

Things were running smoothly and they recorded another track The Kill Klown but it was with their next song that the band would go through yet another change. Dr. Extreem wrote and presented HUNT, DOG, MURDER to the band and initially, Petey Cacca did not approve, mainly due to Petey's view on animal rights etc. Although Petey didn't appreciate the song, he respected Dr. Extreem's freedom of artistic impression. However, Cherry Bomb stepped up to lay out the vocals for the track but the rest of the band just didn't approve. Cherry, after two songs, was already looking to expand his vocal stylings but unfortunately, its not what the rest of the band was looking for. The Madness and Cherry Bomb decided to have a side project that would allow Cherry to explore his vocal capabilities and to leave Way Of The Extreme to The Madness, Dr. Extreem and Petey Cacca. WOTE were down to 3 and were without an official singer. The vocals for HUNT, DOG, MURDER were then laid out by The Madness and Dr. Extreem.

The band then needed a singer and at the same time, The Madness and Dr. Extreem started writing songs like mad bastards. Within a short period of time, they had over 30 songs waiting to be recorded. During this writing process, the two became very attached to the songs. This was one of the main reasons why they then opted to not hire a singer and just sing whatever songs themselves. From that point, the vocals were shared by the whole and there was no official lead singer. What the band really needed was a proper drummer. Not even Petey was content with the drums. Petey had moved himself into production and regardless, didn't want to play drums live. Strange as it may seem, Petey doesn't want and never did want to be bathed the warm caress of the stage lights, he is strictly behind the scenes.

A couple of years went by and The Madness and Dr. Extreem (who became the vehicle behind the band) decided to wait for the right time to record the album. The Madness had been getting into guitar a lot more and the band decided to bring aboard a bassist and although they found El Diablo, they still needed a drummer and It was looking hopeless. The Madness believed that finding a drummer who could do what they want was next to impossible. Then a divine light shone upon the band when Dr. Extreem noticed the drum stylings of his friend's 13 year old little brother. Dr. Extreem didn't approach him to join the band right away as he needed to make sure that his character would fit the band. Soon after, Pops proved himself to the utter delight of Dr. Extreem and The Madness. Dr. Extreem often said that one of the main things that attracted him to Pops' style was his seamless ability to change from jazz beats to death metal blast beats. So it was Dr. Extreem, The Madness, El Diablo, Pops and Petey Cacca.

The band was very happy with the line-up. However, personal issues cast a dark shadow on the band. The Madness and Dr. Extreem moved in together but trying times brought on turmoil which saw The Madness leave the band.

With The Madness gone, the band still managed to do very well for themselves. Dr. Extreem kept on writing as well as taking on The Darker Half under his wing. Soon enough, the band was finally ready after 4 years to play their first gig.

The Madness, in the meantime started working with a different musical entity entitled Purple Sticky Punch which is a mix of metal, funk and electronica. Although very into his new project, WOTE always had a special place in his heart. He settled his differences with Dr. Extreem and once again took an interest in the band.

During the weeks before the first gig, El Diablo began to show less committment to the band and told Dr. Extreem that he could not play the first gig. The Madness stepped forth and offered his services on bass. The Madness had rejoined the band but in an unofficial role, The Madness is still in his other band, Purple Sticky Punch.

Months went by and much debate rose within the ranks regarding the official role of The Madness. All was resolved when the band decided to bring aboard a utlity man who could fill any gaps. Sir Tubalot was asked to join the band and he accepted.
