Rock General

Wascomat 73 was a band that existed only in the living room of our house in Edinburgh (at Peacocktail close). We were a space rock band but sadly without any Hawkwind style spaceship noises. The band was relatively short lived, lasting for a few months. One day i recorded and mixed our first 4 track demo song. The bass player didn't like it, and from then on we never played as a band again. I don't know why, we never talked about it. We didn't have a drum kit so i made one out of household objects. the tom toms were cardboard, the snare drum was a toy drum with a tape box full of screws taped to it, the hi-hat was a big jar and the cymbals were pots and pans suspended on string. Band/artist history
Wascomat 73 were short and tempestuous. Compositions were discussed very little, and the whole method of composition and practice was simply to play music. Band practices were almost entirely musical with very little spoken words.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
As i mentioned, we played live, but only in our own living room.
Your musical influences
Influences are hawkwind, iron butterfly, pink floyd, monster magnet, black flag, jimi hendrix, white zombie and so on.
What equipment do you use?
We had a cardboard drumkit, with pots and pans as the cymbals, a toy drum for the snare and a 3 gallon glass bottle for the hi-hat.
