Songs and instrumentalsBand/artist history
Been involved in music for over 30 years. Since 2006 I've produced 5 album projects.
Also 1 from 1995. From 1995-2005 I was keyboardist in the Long Island band UNIFIED PAST.
I am currently in very early stages of a new recording project. I'm hoping to have it completed by 2020.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes. Mostly open mic spots because I enjoy playing original music.
I enjoy streaming LIVE on You Tube. My YouTube link is right here
which you can copy and paste to check out past LIVE You Tube performances

Your musical influences
RUSH is and always will be my top favorite band ever.
After them there is just so many. I love Dream Theater a lot! Over the years Smashing Pumpkins, Chevelle, Foo Fighters, Tool, Radiohead, Killers bands like that I've always enjoyed. Lately I've really been into things like Meshuggah, Korn, Slipnot, Mastodon, Russian Circles, Animals As Leaders, Tides From Nebula,
Those are the artists which inspire me the most. But I listen to all kinds of other rock and non rock artists as well. When I like to mellow out Ambient music is great! Love old school jazz from time to time as well as blues. But the harder heavier stuff grabs me mostWhat equipment do you use?
I've had a Paul Reed Smith for decades. Fender Tele Deluxe
My most recent guitars are an Ibanez 7 string, Jackson Dinky 7
Schecter Omen 8. Plus a Mitchell Exotic Wood Acoustic
Peavy Vypyr /Sampera 2, Couple of Vox Modeling Amps
Kork Micro Korg, Korg Micro Key which includes Wavestation, M1 and a bunch of other synths,
I record using Cakewalk/Sonar and various plug ins. Audacity as well for editing and stuffAnything else?
My music is homemade and home grown. It's definitely rough around the edges. I admit that. But it is REAL. Creating my music is a labor of love. It's a joy to make and always a challenge.
I'm learning as I go along. Trying different things. It's a lot of fun. I do the best I can but also
make sure I have fun and just go for it! I'm not into music for fame or big money. Its just something I love doing.Nice Composition

💯 Katherine the Korg Wavestation rocks. I have the Korg Micro Key that came with legacy software aka 6 Korg synths that can be dialed up on the laptop. It's mainly for recording purposes. But the Wavestation is my #1 seed for sure. I loved how Tony Banks of Genesis used it on the We Can't Dance album, in particular the track Fading Lights. The lead sound he used I found and used in the intro to VKV1. It's like a modern day Watcher of The Skies type of thing.
As for the native instruments on Sonar , yeah I use Sonar as well and have no idea how to get them working. For drums I use either my Yamaha electronic kit or drum apps on my phone ( free ) Simple Drums DeluxeHeyyy Katherine XO Thank you soooo much for all the amazing feedback. I moved to Charlottesville VA in the summer of 2021. Been juggling finding a good day job and sporadically working on new music and other projects like improving my guitar playing , jamming on You Tube, having fun learning songs on guitar that I've always wanted to but never got around when I was younger. Mostly Randy Rhoades and VH stuff.
But #1 for me is creating new music. I feel the next album project will have more positive vibes. My music is always a time capsule and definitely reflects the times I'm in. I'm hoping to get something new, at least a song or two out this year. 🙏🙏🙏🙏 Your feedback adds fire to my inspiration.
So sorry it's been way too long since I chimed in on here. But you are most definitely my #1 fan on here. And yes indeed I wear my influences on my sleeve. Lots of Rush in there. There's just no escape from that. I do try I fuse other elements in there to mix it up like making the songs heavier or more keyboards like Genesis or somethingI listened to all of Vimny K volume 1 last night for the first time in a while. I agree Katherine 😎 Tides is the best tune. Refuge is pretty solid too. Entropy also one of my faves. When it came to putting together Tides and Entropy, I focused on each of them one at a time until they were finished and then I moved on to other songs. I might do that with every song on the next album. And maybe as a whole album I'll have 6 or 7, maybe 8 songs total instead of 10 or more. Kind of like Rush did in the early days. All comments (36)

Glad you love Passion Dome. I think those patches were the Wavestation again. And when I found the right chords and textures it's just dreamy as hell. That's definitely what I was going for. It's the flip side to my heavy rockin side 😎 I equally love nice dreamy textures. I think one direction I wanna go in is finding a way to write songs that bring both together in a nice concise way
