Singer Matty Walsh and Drummer Phil Portuesi, members of the recently disbanded New York City Hardcore Band "Rapid Deployment", joined forces with Staten Island Punk band "The Rage" bassist Scott Robinson and Guitarist Steve Meko to form "Victim of Society" in early 1983. Their single "Looks So Easy (When You're Young)" b/w "Another Point of View/The Act Becomes Real" was released in the Summer of 1983 by New York Indpendent Label Trebb Records. Drummer Phil Portuesi left VOS soon-after the 45 was released. After playing with several drummers, VOS finally selected Bobby Lee Moller as Phils replacement. Phil went on to play with the Punk Band "New Rose", as well as a stint with ex-Misfits guitarist Bobby Steele. VOS extensively played the downtown New York City Punk Circuit (A7, CBGBs, Great Gildersleeves) through 1984, when they disbanded. Sadly, Singer/Lyricist Matt Walsh passed away a few years after VOS broke up. Bassist Scott Robinson went on to play with Alt-Rockers "TV3", and Guitarist Steve Meko and Drummer Bobby Lee Moller went on to front the Rock Band "True Rumor", who released Indie-Rock albums "Silent Generation" and "Knee Deep in Circumstance" in the late 80's.
CBGBs, Great Gildersleeves, A7 - Dives too numerous to mention.
Sex Pistols, Ramones, Clash, Buzzcocks, The Damned, The Professionals, Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers, NY Dolls, Lou Reed.
