Band/artist history

(Im Going To Insert My Bio Here)

Growing up in the small town of Fostoria,Oh. VanLee a.k.a "V" has hoaned in on his lyrical skills. Having a father who had been in many rock bands VanLee has been around music his whole life.

Born Sabian Van Lee Myers December 22 1993 in Fostoria Ohio to mother Mickey S. Myers (Huffman) and father Mickey L. Myers VanLee's journey begins. Struggling to keep his music striving, his fathers dedication to his own music kept him going until his band members split to persue different lifestyles. Having this happen to him so many times prompted him to build himself a home studio, to record his own music. In doing so, word had spread around to local artist in the area.

While living in the local projects of Fostoria known as the "Town Houses" or "Eko Village", and being that "Eko" was one of the biggest spots for drug dealer's at the time, this meant lots of traffic. So Vanlee's father seen an oppurtunity to make money and took advantage of it. Using the bathroom as a booth and the kitchen as the DAW area, locals had started calling it "Hells Kitchen".

Being a young boy living with both parents and a younger sister Sabrina C.L. Myers he continuously listened to the local talent record daily.

I can remember watching and listening to em' and thinking that was tight"-VanLee

VanLee found himself liking the feel and energy of rap music and began to grow a passion for it. At first all he thought existed was rock music because of his father love for his own craft. But not long after, by age 6 VanLee began to freestyle. Puting rhymes together and flowing on beats with no practice, and mostly in secret. Rapping seem to come natural for the young VanLee. He started to "get on the mic" when his father realized he had something.

Granted he was only 6 and didnt know vocabulary to well, but he was still able to ride the beat. Using any word's that any normal 6 year old would, almost nursery rhyme style (laugh), along with word's, phrases and punchlines he picked up from other artist recording at the time, But I knew there was something there...I just knew"-Father

Not fully understanding the meaning's of the phrases or words, VanLee just knew what rhymed with what, and where the rhyming word was supposed to drop on the beat. Having a "Rocker" dad and "Rap" influence, VanLee found himself listening to artists like KidRock, Limp Bizkit, P.O.D, alot. Then moving on to artists like Ludacris, Jay-Z, Naz, Twista and Eminem who where introduced to him by his older cousin Kurtis Huffman.

Kurtis and little "V" were very close nitched. When he first heard Eminem he wanted to be just like him. Now age 7 and still searching to find his style, VanLee started writing rhymes on paper opening a whole other mind set and recording them when he could. His father obviously always took the money first, but always found time for his son along the way.

Then tragedy struck the family On April 16th 2005 when VanLee's cousin Kurtis M.A. Huffman was suddenly killed by a fire-arm at age 19 changing VanLee's life forever. Writing about his love for his cousin, and his views on growing up in the projects, VanLee started gaining more respect.

After moving to a new apartment away from the projects, VanLee continued to tighten his skills more and more. Givin the name "Dozer" by a local artist and close family friend named Praufisea (Prophecy) in 2006. By the age of 12 VanLee started getting more and more attention from local artist and friends releasing mixtapes under "Dozer". In 2006 a local group called "Tha Fam" which his father had been focused on, had opened up for "Gucci Mane". An agreement was reached for Gucci to do a verse with them. In doing so, Gucci ended up at VanLee's apartment in the studio. Being able to have a well known artist in his house was unbeilevable to VanLee. Getting his autograph, he bragged at school to his friend's and classmate's only to have the majority not believe that gucci was at his house. But he didn't care because he knew the truth. While the economy worsened and his fathers studio slowed down, VanLee's father started taking more focus on him. Now Soon to be 18, and having a few live shows under his belt, VanLee had been complimented, and requested by many fans. "V" has no fear of showing off his skills. Being a "White kid rapper" and young blew alot of peoples minds. Finally finding his own style, VanLee stays very versatile. Always able to hear melodies in beats where most rappers wouldn't bother, VanLee would be all over it. Knowing and understanding his craft with confidence VanLee is ready to take on all industry challenges.

I have a TechN9ne, Bonethugs, Eminem, Ludacris, Twista, 2pac, and any 80's & 90's Rock Band Influence-VanLee. It's the way he uses his words and the way he constructs his flows to any givin beat that keeps me listening"-FAN. "b Being able to do any type of music, R&B, rock rap, standard rap, gangsta rap, anything he sets his damn mind to, has earned respect from alot of people in his area, including myselfb0 "-Local Artist

I dont think im the 'best' by far. I know there is always room for improvement and I welcome constructive criticism. My dad has always kept me level headed. I dont get big headed about anything. I know im good at what i'm doing, but I don't put myself on any higher level. I know my Sh** Stinks. I just know I want people to know my name and hear what I have to say. I honestly don't want to be "Mainstream". I wanna be the white TechN9ne (laughing). Ahh, I just want the world to know me. For my music-VanLee
