Uwawa began three years ago as a solo acoustic act. Now it represents three musicians who believe in life, spontaneity and the idea that accidents are sometimes necessary. As a group we have been performing together long enough to know that there is no ceiling to hold us back. There is no finish line. Practice makes perfect, and we understand that music is not about who is better than who. The progression of art is communitive... or at least it should be. As Uwawa we try to represent and promote ourselves as honestly as we can. We know that press and media can sometimes distort the facts and make things larger than they really are, but we also know that we are just three guys doing what we do best.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We've been playing in NYC for the past 3 years about once a month. We've played at alot of venues such as CB's 313, Le Bar Bat, Acme Underground, and some that were so small I don't think that anyone outside of the neighborhood would know what they were.
