Story behind the song
Ray Gallant is a prodigious lyricist and taleted author based in Toledo, Ohio. Ray and I met through my wife while Ray was stationed in the Navy down here in Hampton Roads. A true renaissance man and wonderful human being, Ray is always looking for collaborators. If anyone out there (like me) enjoys writing music but can't write lyrics worth a damn, drop me a line and I'll hook you up with Ray. As for the music, I wrote this with Ray's voice in mind, but he moved before I had it finished, so what you hear is my debut (and probably swansong) as a lead vocalist. The rest of the instruments were all overdubbed by me in that tedious "one-at-a-time" fashion.
