In Regards To Andy Timmons In Regards To Andy Timmons

This was a backing track to an Andy Timmons song (sorry, never heard it before so I don't know which one) that was posted by Vlad on the HC Amp Forum. There were several interesting takes.....here's mine.

Just a musician/writer looking for an outlet.....
Band/artist history
Started playing saxophone at age 10, progressed quickly and by the high school was member of Michigan State Band and Orchestra Association All-State Orchestra and Jazz Band. Studied for BA in Music Education with a Woodwind Performance minor at Aquinas College, but left after sophomore year to join the United States Air Force (where I am currently gigging as a weather forecaster - hey, it has been interesting and it pays the bills! I couldn't see myself being happy as a public school band director - though I had a couple of great ones). My main instrument these days is guitar, but I also play keyboards, bass, and sax (though much less of that these days). I write original music and put my own arrangement spins on certain covers.

Your musical influences
I've played in everything from R&B/Funk bands, to rock bands, to jazz quartets, to country bands - so my tastes and influences are pretty ecclectic, but the period that I draw the most influence from is the 70's and 80's, specifically the progressive rock bands from that period. I still listen to a TON of jazz, lately mostly small group jazz from the late 40s through early 60s.
What equipment do you use?
