Abysmalia initiated its career as a one-man-project in 2007 when Jouni Koskela decided to upload an extended play entitled "The Sewage of Lies" featuring songs he'd been putting together so far. Enthused by the relatively positive feedback, he decided to write more material. Ever since that time, Abysmalia has gained more members (Antti Jylhä on bass guitar in 2008 and Marko Nikula on clean vocals in 2009) and released three intertwining conceptual full-lengths up-to-date. The music is inspired by the surrounding environment and freedom of self-expression and therefore is not strictly limited to any sub-category of the metal genre. MEMBERS: Jouni Koskela - Vocals, Guitars, Programming (since 2007) Marko Nikula - Lead Clean Vocals (since 2009) Antti Jylhä - Bass Guitar (since 2008) Tiina Hietala - Session Female Vocals (on "Wolves among Wolves") Ville Suorsa - Guest Guitar Solo (on "Sons of Perdition") Panu Rauhala - Session Keyboards (on "Sons of Perdition", "By a Sickening Reverie" and "The Naiad of Dawn") DISCOGRAPHY: Replenish Entirety [released 2nd of April 2010] Quid Humanum Est [released 8th of April 2009] Portals to Psychotic Inertia [released 30th of June 2008] The Sewage of Lies EP [released 20th of August 2007] Interview below updated June 2010.

Story behind the song
This song was written in 2005 and since then it was a loner because atmospherically it didn't fit in any of the concepts I were thinking of. I always thought it would make a decent standalone track to any album, but I don't have the ability to make songs that work well on their own so I pretty much had to shove it somewhere. Even after the recording process, this song has a certain feeling that it doesn't fit in this concept as well as the others.
Lyrics
IRREPLACEABLE Music by Jouni Koskela Lyrics by Jouni Koskela The observing eye remains invisible Until man has reached adequate powers of self-control The standard level of moral Will never be stable enough to avoid supervision The state of your autonomy will come crashing down On your knees you can find all the reasons From beneath your subhuman existence Your are but a pile of empty cells of animal trait Irreplaceable - Follow the emptiness behind the truth you see in these eyes and (Re)intraceable - Existence of humanity is entirely accidental The monitors of your well-being prove to be Disastrously wrong and far from the truth according to you The choice is yours but none of them pays Who can ever make a decision everybody's satisfied with? The limits to your social life uphold your balance Losing your mind means creativity in many forms Can you eventually resist the call of freedom Or will it take your powers that maintain normative life? Irreplaceable - existence is truth you see but will you bleed for divinity that's Consequential - follow the emptiness behind the truth, you'll see there's so much more than Irreplaceable - I can't handle this alone with all the anger I feel inside you're Consequential - words that change are ridiculed by matters that seem illusionary
