Story behind the song
This is the first song I wrote which I recorded with the band I was in at that time, Overhead. This was around 1980, so it's not the same Overhead that you might think of today. Although the name is the same as an ELP song, that was purely by accident. I was thinking of the Enigma, which was a WWII secret code deciphering and encrypting maching used by the Nazis to send secret messages. Polish mathematicians began the work to reverse-engineer it with the Brits finishing the job.
