Story behind the song
Born in a cage is about the realization that there is one particular way that our society wants us to grow up. From birth we are made afraid of the consequence of Eternal Suffering if we do not accept "The Correct Messiah." So many people spend their entire lives in a cage of fear. So their ability to be creative and at peace is replaced by the fear of suffering in the afterlife. Many of these people, in this process, become hateful themselves without even realizing it.
