Story behind the song
I found inspiration for this song from a friend of mine who is a fabulous musician and songwriter. She was in a very successful band for several years. After the band split up, she didn't think she could continue as a solo artist or with finding a new band. She had lost her drive to follow her dream of being an artist. I knew she had it in her blood and hoped that she would find a way to pick up the pieces. It would have been a shame to waste so much talent. I wrote this song from the perspective of a person in this situation, adding the twist of this artist rising above and continuing on with the musical dream.

Hey Alexis, Came across this song in a very roundabout way, was a nice treat to my ears tho. I love your voice, very easy on the ears and soulful, reminds me of Amy Grant once in awhile. I love the inspiration behind the story of your song, life and people around us, are the canvas for songs so many times, I've written a few for friends as well. Very nice production on this song, I really like the way you do your vocals, great job :) ~strummergurl~
