This is the last thing we did as a group. It was recorded "live" in the studio with one take and was supposed to just be a practice run.

Jazza Diction refused to color in the lines. We boasts the best in word jazz and liked to stretch out on occasion to promote the idea that music is music, Daddy-O! After three EP's and two LP's, the band parted company due to artistic differences, but aimably. Brian, Don, Ray and Tim still perform as Storm Train and I (Jef) am looking to revive Jazza Diction with new musicians.

Story behind the song
This song was the one that caused the members of Jazza Diction to dissolve the band. Three of the members felt that I (Jef Peace) was becoming "dark" in my writing. This was basically true because this time of my life was filled with suffering and misery . . . my writing is a reflection of my emotions and I was feeling dark.
Lyrics
The Lie Looking inside where you can't hide what you feel A frieght train on a downgrade runaway, run a way Don't look back look down to the ground where your feet slap like a cold clap on the unyeilding black of the paved road It's so cold deep down inside no where to hide under the gun there's no where to run you can trust no one not even yourself especially not yourself You tell you the biggest lie no reason why but still you try to convince yourself it's all okay It'll be fine maybe later today Words bounce in your head with nothing being said you feel like you're dead or you wish you were But not really, that's not it, not one little bit just doesn't fit with the lie to get by gotta' try just one more time Keep on tryin', quit your cryin' stop the lyin' be honest with you 'cuz no one else will They tell you what they wish were true what's best for them, not for you They say you are what they want you to be Casual lunacy is in vogue this year don't shed a tear for my loss of sanity don't pray for me it's a waste of breath god stopped caring about my life shortly after my death (c) 2002, Jef Peace - all rights reserved
