The FLUKES comprising of Martyn, Dave and Mike on ukes Richard on bass and Roger on percussion
A ukulele group complete with bass and percussion. We grew from just a duo of Martyn & Peter recording during lockdowns to now with 2 more ukulele players and Bass and Percussion. We play at various charity organisations/events and private parties. Peter is absent at the moment recovering from a stroke

Story behind the song
We thought we would attempt this song as not many ukulele players seem to have, and we love it and David Bowie. Hope we've done it justice
Lyrics
We passed upon the stair We spoke of was and when Although I wasn't there He said I was his friend Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes I thought you died alone A long, long time ago Oh no, not me I never lost control You're face to face With the man who sold the world I laughed and shook his hand And made my way back home I searched for form and land For years and years I roamed I gazed a gazely stare At all the millions here We must have died alone A long long time ago Who knows Not me We never lost control You're face to face With the man who sold the world Who knows Not me We never lost control You're face to face With the man who sold the world

I prefer this version to the original! It works really well as an acoustic version. Great performance & vocals, love that ukulele!

Hey, what a great choice of a song. It's interesting to hear Rock songs stripped down like this. Great.
