No Sunshine, No Moonlight
One pass of a Fender Bassman on a song written over 30 years. Fairly straight ahead R and R with a G&L bass though an SVT for that classic rock sound.

Story behind the song
This song was written in 1986 and just got overshadowed by other songs with other hooks. I did this recording as a quick one pass with a Fender Bassman and Full drive 2 with a bass overdub. Sometimes rock works best when you don't over think it.
The song's origin as a Peter Frampton ballad then; sits better now as a straight forward r'n'r number. The band would have probably have been more accepting of it.
Song basis was loneliness and that what was to come wasn't worth much if there was no one to share it with. I was holed up in a studio apartment in Findlay, OH all week. It was a GREAT place to learn to write, but horrid dungeon to live in. All the comforts of 1880's plumbing a mere three flights up from living on the street. To pay for a full time rehearsal hall, a sacrifice had to be made.
Lyrics
1. THE DAY BEGINS, JUST LIKE ANY OTHER DAY
I WAKE UP ALONE, THERE'S NO OTHER WAY
MAKE MYSELF BREAKFAST, IN THE SAME LITTLE PAN
THERE'S NO ONE HERE, TO LEND ME A HAND
NO SUNSHINE,NO MOONLIGHT
NO LOVER TO TELL MY TROUBLES TO
NO SUNSHINE, NO MOONLIGHT,
NO LOVER TO WATCH MY DREAMS COME TRUE
2. SOMETIMES I THINK, I'M GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS OF A LIFE
I COULD TAKE THE PAIN SUFFERING, IF ONLY I CONTROL THE KNIFE
BUT IT'S ALL SO RANDOM, BUT IT FEELS SO PLANNED
IF FEEL LIKE A MARTYR, FROM SOME DESERT HOLY LAND
3. THERE ARE DAYS YOU CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER, "WHATS IT ALL FOR"
BUT YOU PICK YOURSELF ON UP, DON'T CRY ON THE FLOOR,
BUT THE WORLD IS WAITING, FOR IT'S POUND OF FLESH
YOU CAN'T SURVIVE, WITHOUT SOME PUNISHMENT
4. GETTING CAUGHT UP, IN A WAITING GAME
WAITING FOR EVERYTHING TO BE SERVED TO YOU
TIME TO OPEN YOUR EYES AND LIVE FOR THE NOW
SAND WILL LEAVE THE HOURGLASS,YOU WON'T KNOW HOW
