Story behind the song
This Tune is about the struggle of a lonesome man who went for a walk on the fells of Dartmoor, encountering rain he noticed the flickering of a distant ale house, known as the Travelers Arms, beckoned in by the landlord from afar. The weary traveller sat down at the hearthside and had a flagon of ale brought to him. He was very tired and promptly fell asleep, when he woke his arms had been chopped off, The End .....
