Omnivorous: Classic rock to elevator to folk-rock. Melodic ballads, instrumentals and hillbilly meth-head psychedelia. Sometimes political, but no attitude.

Story behind the song
The opening line was scrawled onto the back of a boarding pass mid-flight between Seattle and Tokyo. I'd just awoken from a nap and was dismayed to see on the seatback GPS display that we were still only half way to our destination. In those days it was a 12 hour flight, a long time to sit. I was really looking forward to my customary noodle fix once there.
Lyrics
Note: some lyrics are wrong in the recording. I was so proud of myself for getting through the whole lead vocal in the first take that I decided to keep the flubbed lyrics as-is. Seems like I've spent half my life in this tube, but we're only just half way to Tokyo Five dismal hours are all that remain, till I'm slurping my noodles in Tokyo Until then I've got this warm TV dinner of mystery meat With a mint on the side A worn rolled-up copy of People Magazine's gonna Tell me how some movie star has died Chasing the sun now the nighttime is done And it's already morning in Tokyo Watching the movie, this time in Japanese Are we really just half way to Tokyo? Was it only this morning that I woke up half a world away And you know what's really weird? That ten hours later my watch reads yesterday Somehow 24 hours have disappeared When we finally arrive and I'm on the ground again I'll be grinning ear to ear 'Cause before I get in line again I've got a little time to spend With noodles and a seven-dollar beer Then it's off we go again, another airline meal and then After 27 hours on run Hello, Manila, it's really good to see ya I'm so glad that I could be here once again
