Story behind the song
Part of a series from the Fulton House Internet Project. Mike Dodge is a veteran guitarist/writer/producer out of Grand Rapids, Michigan and one of my lifelong friends. After falling out of touch for MANY years, Mike found me via this website. Fulton House was a central gathering point and home of quite a few talented West Michigan musicians, and you'll hear some of their contributions on FHIP tracks. This particular one consists of: Mike Dodge: funk guitar and drum programming (verses); rhythm guitar (bridges); guitar solo #1 John Leurck: Piano and synth; bass; drum programming (bridges and choruses); rhythm guitars (choruses); guitar solo #2 This started with Mike sending me the funk guitar and atonal bridge already complete, I added the chorus, then we just overdubbed like hell sending it back and forth, Mike using Cool Edit Pro, and I Cubase VST/32. Mike uses a vintage Gibson Les Paul Standard and a Line6 POD, with drums programmed on an Alesis drum machine. I used a Washburn XB-400 bass direct to the board, an Alesis QuadraSythn+, and a Yamaha Weddington into Fulltone Fulldrive II, then into a Johnson J-Station.
