Music has always been a special joy to me. While still a child I enjoyed classical guitar and piano lessons. While growing up I had opportunity to play for our church youth group. More recently I have begun to write songs. They vary widely in style and are not confined to any one genre. My goal is to please the One who is the song-giver; to honour Him in all I write and play. It is my sincere desire that the Lord uses the music I write to draw people closer to Himself. Wherever you are at in relationship to God, may this music touch your heart and be a blessing to you.

Lyrics
Verse 1 I heard your servant preaching, God But I shied away from meeting You If You are like Your servant, God, I’ve got much catching up to do. I’m afraid that what I’ve done Has distanced me from You I feel so very far away God, is there anything that You can do? Verse 2 Would you take this hardened heart And take my unclean mind You are the only One who knows How tight the chains of darkness bind It is through Jesus Christ I come And humbly bow my knee My life’s an open book to You All my thoughts and deeds You see. Verse 3 Release me from this grip of death Break the chains that hold me tight I cannot do it on my own Please send Jesus Christ to fight Please make me clean all through and through And wash me white as snow Teach me to walk Your way of life And set me on the path that I must go. Verse 4 I am so very grateful, Lord For all that You have done You took me from the darkness And brought me to Your Son. Now I am Your servant A good ambassador I’ll be I want people to see Jesus When they look at me. INDNJC ©2004 Connie R. Smith
