Uproot Entertainment Group was created in late 2000. The ideal of the label started with a dream and a plan. This reality came together when Jay Wells (Black Exodus), Hassan Wells (Hoodbluz), Tobias Wells (Tib Wells), Jared Wells (Sunny Osiris) and Maurice White (Pete Dog) laid the solid foundation of friendship, brotherhood and collaboration to bring forth, of “DA COMPILATION”.
UPROOT DA COMPILATON is laced with 16 blazing joints that transcend area codes and coast. With artist like HoodBluz, Flesh&Blood and G.A.M.E., you will feel the different emotions of life through song and script. Uproot also enlisted the lyrical help of Last Page, Jacpott & Sticka-Bush and the vocal soul stylings of Allison Formby and Ebony Young! With the different variation of artist you get a little from all coasts (East, West, North & South) our own” Uproot Gumbo”!
Uproot artists continue to rock monthly shows at local venues in Los Angeles (Wilshire Grand Hotel, Crystal Park Casino & Hollywood Park Casino). Uproot Records have sold over 2000 copies of “DA COMPILATION”, through shows, online and street sales. “Da COMPILATION”, is now gaining strong support on the West Coast and soon the East.
