Born March 4, 1981 in the small hood of Lakewood,New Jersewelcomed an 8 pound 3 ounce KING.
The youngest of 3 children born to Sharon Poston he went through the struggles of not having a father around,
as many african americans endure. Childhood was rough financially living from place to place at y the world times living
in motels and other unordinary conidtions. His mother did the best she could and would sacrifice to make sure
her kids had. Throughout his elementary years Universal was an honor roll student and excelled in sports,this
was the case until about 8th grade.It was around this time he realized he needed to make his own money to take
some of the responsibility from his mother. That summer he got a job as a recreation counselor making about $5
an hour which was cool when your 14. But these jobs were only for the summer and for the rest of the year he
was back depending on his mother. Now a freshman he had to make it happen he was to fly not to have the latest,
and at this point females were his 1 motivation. Although small Lakewood is a crime and drug infested area halfway
between Philadelphia and New York, where hustler's made thousands a day pushing cocaine, marijuana and others types
of drugs throughout the county. The lifestyle was appealing to a young Universal and he was ready to roll the dice.
At age 16 he copped his first pack and started providing for himself, this would be his means of income througout
High School. He managed to keep his grades intact and signed to attend Stockton College's Summer program that August.
On April 3, 1999 he caught a cds charge and at the age of 18 his life was about to change forever. Anticipating
probation, it was denied thanks to a new brimage law stating that anyone caught with drugs in a school zone would
receive mandatory jailtime. An on October 8, 1999 he was sentenced to 3 years in State Prison, this is where he
would write his first rhyme and also would receive the "knowledge of himself", and become part of the 5% Nation.
Studying 120 and learning and understanding Mathematics would only sharpen and already sharp mind, and by the time
of his release December 13, 2000 he was a 19 year old man. Coming back to the enviorment of Lakewood was a challenge
but Universal was ready for whatever came his way. Sitting on about 250 pages of rhymes and a brain full of ammo
he decided to go hard with the music. In 2001 he met King Lameek who was already on his grind and had been around
the music for awhile. It would be Lameek to bring Universal to the studio where he would record for the first time,
that 16 earned him a spot in the group AALIKE which was formed shortly after. Along with King Lameek, I-Rule, and
Be-Life producing Universal has been holding been holding it down with AALIkE eversince. With constant music coming
out since 2001 he has been featured on several projects that had relative success. Releasing his first solo project,
the mixtape, B.A.M.N. VOL.1 in January 08 Universal is definitely go harder than ever!!!!!! In 2007 he started AALIKE
ENT. to which he and AALIKE are signed to independently, but a major deal isn't far away. If real recognize real
you can appreciate the lyricism and swagger of "The God" UNIVERSAL aka 1 Draft Pick aka Fetti Crocker. Major Labels
take a close look and "break bread" he's like investing in good stock you can't lose. Until then he's investing
in himself and keeping all the profit, but he's willing to negotiate for the right situation. If it don't make
